ILYM Radical Acting in Faith Workshop

The ILYM Anti-racism Committee invites you to join us in a four-part online workshop Radical acting in faith for white people created by American Friends Service Committee.

"Engage in deep, embodied learning and practice with other white people of faith working to end white supremacy. We will build the skills to show up fully, follow BIPOC leadership, speak effectively, and engage in direct action."

If you're interested in attending, please register at the following link: https://forms.gle/DnPxenA4qofVsmMz7

We won't turn anyone away who hasn't registered, and we're still asking everyone interested to complete this short form. Registration allows us to email materials in advance, and enables us to have an approximate tally of how many people to expect.

In each session we'll watch the videos provided by AFSC and process and grow together with the aim of committing to collective actions that we can take by the end of the series. In the face of white supremacy's intertwined systems of oppression it's often easy to feel powerless as an individual, but through mutual support and coordinated action we can make a meaningful difference in our Meetings and our wider communities.

Please plan to spend time each week in preparation and reflection in addition to joining us for each of the Zoom sessions.

All sessions are on Mondays at 7 PM Central time on the following dates:
Jan 10, 2022 7:00 – 9:00 PM Central
Jan 24, 2022 7:00 – 9:00 PM Central
Feb 7, 2022 7:00 – 9:00 PM Central
Feb 21, 2022 7:00 – 9:00 PM Central
*Sessions may not use the full two hours, and there will be screen breaks during each session.
